Job description

Paciolan is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join our Product Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of live events, analytics, and modern cloud data platforms. In this role, you'll have end-to-end ownership of the data products that empower our clients to make timely, high-impact business decisions while helping shape the future of our analytics capabilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build and scale business intelligence as a service, delivering insights that create measurable value for clients
  • Design, own, and evolve end-to-end data solutions across data engineering, analytics, and data science
  • Develop and maintain dynamic dashboards using Fundraising, Ticketing, Marketing, and other complex data sources
  • Lead client onboarding and act as a long-term analytics partner to participating organizations
  • Ensure data accuracy and reliability through rigorous validation, monitoring, and root-cause analysis
  • Create data models and structures that power trusted, scalable analytics
  • Partner closely with Product, UI/UX, Customer Success, and fellow data engineers to deliver intuitive, high-impact solutions
  • Proactively propose new analyses and help shape how insights are shared across clients and internal teams

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of work experience delivering business intelligence or analytics to stakeholders across teams or organizations
  • Demonstrated experience in the ticketing/live events/sports space
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, AWS, or similar)
  • Experience building dashboards and reports using modern data visualization tools (Tableau preferred)
  • A curiosity-driven mindset-you ask "why," connect patterns, and turn data into clear, compelling stories
  • A passion for building analytics that are not only accurate, but genuinely useful and actionable
  • Comfort giving and receiving feedback, and a willingness to stretch beyond your comfort zone

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Python or R for predictive, statistical, or categorical modeling
  • Familiarity with live entertainment, college athletics, or fundraising data
  • End-to-end data engineering experience (source warehouse visualization/export)
  • Experience with ETL tools and modern data stack patterns
  • Deep familiarity with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms
  • Exposure to AI-driven analytics use cases (e.g., forecasting, segmentation, anomaly detection, or AI-assisted insights), and interest in building data foundations that support future AI capabilities

Pay Transparency:

The approximate national base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000. Please note that this is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Individuals may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and/or sales compensation based on individual and company performance.
