CRC Group is seeking a highly organized, analytical and detail-oriented Associate Business Analyst to support portfolio-level analysis, performance management, and operational improvement initiatives across the Starwind underwriting platform. This role will work closely with underwriting, finance, actuarial, operations, data analytics, and executive leadership teams to evaluate program performance, identify opportunities for growth and optimization, and support the project management and execution of strategic initiatives.
The Associate Business Analyst will play an important role in helping Starwind evaluate program performance and market gaps. The role will support project planning and tracking, coordinate stakeholders across functions and help ensure that new initiatives, systems and process changes are rolled out smoothly and adopted effectively across the organization. Additionally, the Associate Business Analyst will support the continued development and use of portfolio management tools including benchmarking frameworks and reporting dashboards.
This position is an individual contributor role with meaningful exposure to senior leadership, program leaders, underwriting teams, finance, actuarial, operations, and data stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, finance, operations, and data analytics teams to gather performance information and understand program-specific context.

Work with program leaders and operational stakeholders to understand growth priorities, workflow challenges, and data needs.

Support executive-level presentations, board materials, and strategic planning materials related to portfolio performance and underwriting effectiveness.

Contribute to ad hoc strategic initiatives involving program evaluation, operational improvement, data standardization, and portfolio optimization.

Translate complex data into clear, concise insights for underwriting and executive audiences.

Operational Efficiency, Process Improvement & Project Management

Evaluate operational metrics across programs to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and consistency.

Help document current-state and future-state processes and support the redesign of workflows and operational support models.

Support change management planning for new processes, tools, and organizational initiatives including stakeholder impact assessments and readiness activities.

Partner with program and operational leaders to identify adoption barriers and recommend approaches to drive buy-in and sustained behavior change.

Portfolio Performance & Program Analytics

Support portfolio-level analysis of Starwind programs across financial, growth, risk, operations, and strategic metrics using key performance indicators.

Support recurring reviews of program performance for leadership, including preparation of benchmarking frameworks, dashboards, and presentation materials.

Help identify opportunities to improve data capture and analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Risk Management, Insurance, Data Analytics, or a related analytical discipline.

0-2 years of experience in insurance, underwriting, finance, data analytics, consulting, operations, or a related field.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with financial, operational, and underwriting data.

Strong Excel skills required.

Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or other analytical tools preferred.

Ability to synthesize data into clear business insights and recommendations.

Strong attention to detail and comfort working in a dynamic data environment.

Interest in P&C insurance, MGA/program business, underwriting strategy, and operational improvement.

Strong problem-solving capability and written/verbal communication skills

The annual base salary for this position is $80,000 - $90,000.
