Overview

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Banquet Steward to join our hospitality team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our events, responsible for transforming empty spaces into beautiful banquet halls and maintaining back-of-house cleanliness. Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Execute Event Floorplans: Set up and break down tables, chairs, dance floors, staging, and podiums according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Transport Equipment: Safely move heavy catering gear, buffet equipment, bars, and service ware between storage and event spaces.
  • Maintain Back-of-House Sanitation: Operate commercial dishwashers and manage three-compartment sinks to wash china, glassware, and kitchenware.
  • Keep Spaces Clean: Sweep, mop, and polish banquet rooms, service hallways, and kitchen prep areas before, during, and after events.
  • Manage Waste: Empty trash bins, sort recycling, break down cardboard, and transport garbage to designated disposal areas.
  • Support the Culinary Team: Keep ice stations, buffet lines, and plating lines stocked with clean plates, chafing dishes, and utensils.

 Requirements

  • Physical Capability: Ability to stand, walk, and bend for an entire shift, and repeatedly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Open Availability: Flexibility to work a varied schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to follow strict floor plans, safety instructions, and chemical handling guidelines.
  • Team Player Attitude: A positive mindset and willingness to collaborate closely with chefs, servers, and event coordinators.
  • Prior Experience: Previous experience in stewarding, heavy cleaning, hotel houseperson roles, or event setup is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required, or work equivalent.
  • Previous banquet setup, stewarding, or hospitality experience is highly preferred, but we are willing to train candidates with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to read and interpret Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and floor plans.
  • Basic English communication skills to coordinate effectively with the event team.
