Job description

Proof of the Pudding (POP) is proud to provide the food and beverage services at Georgia International Convention Center. POP offers fine-quality concessions and catering for meetings, exhibit hall booths, conventions, and special events. Georgia International Convention Center includes a 9,800 sq. ft. state-of-the-art culinary arts center and Georgia's largest ballroom at 40,000 sq. ft.  

Join our reputable banquet team as a Banquet Server! We are seeking knowledgeable, well-organized, and professional Banquet Servers to provide our customers with a first-class experience. Banquet Servers will provide Front of House support at events to the client and the POP team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the setting of tables completely according to diagram and/or sample table.
  • Assist in setting buffet stations which may include décor.
  • Serve and clear food and beverage quietly, professionally, and quickly, using proper serving and clearing techniques.
  • Keep work area clean, and coordinate actions with the banquet captain to ensure flawless customer service.
  • Managing time effectively.
  • Assist in managing inventory of equipment and with set up and breakdown of events.
  • Serve and clear food and beverage quietly, professionally, and quickly, using proper serving and clearing techniques.
  • Reporting to the Banquet Captain and performing any tasks assigned in order to execute a flawless event.
  • Maintain good grooming and personal hygiene.

Performs other related duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 1+ year in a banquet or Front of House experience
  • Experience in high volume catering is preferred.

Specialized Qualifications:

  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Renowned time management and organization skills
  • Strong Customer Service skills with the desire to go above and beyond a client’s needs.
  • The ability to work alone and as a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.

Work Environment 

This position works mostly out of and mainly stays within the Georgia International Convention Center but may travel to other venues within the Metro Atlanta Area. This position will consist of event attendance, preparation, set up, and breakdown.​​​​​​​

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, moving through an event space, and traveling from venue to venue
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
  • Ability to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 30 lbs.
