Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will help healthcare teams manage and utilize critical medical devices by executing a combination of routine preventative maintenance and timely equipment repairs so they can confidently leverage highly accurate diagnostic tools to deliver safe, effective patient care.

Every day you will work directly within the hospital environment, interacting with clinicians and navigating changing equipment priorities. You will be expected to efficiently resolve maintenance tickets, complete rigorous preventative maintenance checklists, and ensure all vital medical equipment is working flawlessly.

To be successful in this role, you must possess a genuine passion for troubleshooting and fixing complex equipment issues, have strong technical and mechanical aptitude, and thrive in a dynamic, clinician-facing environment.

  • Performs significant preventative maintenance/safety tests/calibration for equipment.
  • Provides equipment repair throughout responsible area.
  • Completes all necessary record keeping for work orders received and/or finished.
  • Assists in the ordering of parts and supplies necessary for servicing of equipment.
  • Effectively communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues.

  • Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Biomedical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or related field
    • OR equivalent military education
    • OR graduate of a technical program
    • OR equivalent training validated through training certifications
  • Minimum of two (2) year of experience servicing technical equipment
  • AZ Drivers License
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in the standardized situations
