Job Description:Seeking an experienced Lead Data Architect to provide enterprise-wide technical, strategic, and leadership support for data architecture, ETL modernization, data governance, and enterprise data platform initiatives. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Azure cloud data platforms, enterprise data architecture, ETL engineering, database systems, SQL, Spark, Python, Scala, and data governance frameworks. This role requires leading enterprise data modernization efforts, mentoring Data Architects, overseeing logical and physical data models, implementing scalable ETL solutions, ensuring governance compliance, and supporting enterprise operational data stores, warehouses, and analytics ecosystems while maintaining scalability, security, and high availability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead enterprise-wide data architecture strategy, modernization roadmaps, and technical initiatives
  • Design and oversee operational data stores, enterprise data warehouses, and data marts
  • Develop and maintain logical and physical enterprise data models
  • Direct source-to-target mapping activities for integration and transformation projects
  • Lead, mentor, and manage Data Architects and technical architecture teams
  • Establish enterprise data modeling standards, governance frameworks, and metadata policies
  • Lead enterprise data lineage documentation and metadata management practices
  • Design scalable ETL pipelines and high-performance data integration solutions
  • Provide guidance on database optimization, recovery strategies, and data acquisition approaches
  • Collaborate with business leaders, architects, engineering teams, and stakeholders on enterprise initiatives
  • Review and approve technical architecture deliverables and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with governance, security, RBAC, and enterprise data protection requirements


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and modern enterprise data architecture patterns
  • Support enterprise cloud migration and modernization efforts
  • Promote a data-driven culture focused on governance and data quality standards
  • Participate in architecture reviews, technical discussions, and project intake sessions
  • Ensure completion of required security awareness training and Level II background verification requirements


Required Skills:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing large-scale database management systems
  • Strong experience leading Data Architects or enterprise technical architecture teams
  • Expertise with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Purview
  • Strong ETL development and enterprise data engineering background
  • Experience designing and optimizing large-scale ETL pipelines
  • Deep expertise with Spark, Python, and/or Scala
  • Strong SQL expertise and experience handling complex enterprise data structures
  • Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, lineage, and RBAC frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder communication, technical leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience designing secure, scalable, resilient, and compliant enterprise data solutions
  • Familiarity with AWS S3, AWS Data Sync, and warehouse environments preferred
  • Understanding of CJI, HIPAA, and PII compliance standards preferred


Qualifications:

  • Strong enterprise data architecture and modernization experience preferred
  • Experience leading technical architecture teams and mentoring enterprise data professionals preferred
  • Experience supporting cloud-based enterprise data ecosystems preferred
  • Level II Background Check required
  • Completion of Department Security Awareness Training within 30 days required


Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field preferred


Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate preferred
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification preferred
