Job description

The Industrial Controls Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing industrial electrical control systems, automation equipment, and instrumentation. This role ensures manufacturing equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime by supporting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motors, sensors, and electrical distribution systems. The technician works closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to improve equipment reliability and implement continuous improvement initiatives.


Schedule: We are hiring for multiple shifts - 8hrs shifts, 7am-3pm, 3pm -11pm or 11pm -7am Monday - Friday


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical and control systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, PLC, HMI, and automation-related issues.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
  • Install, wire, and commission motors, sensors, VFDs, control panels, and instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment using software and diagnostic tools.
  • Calibrate and maintain process instrumentation and control devices.
  • Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and automation projects.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and company safety standards.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for equipment failures.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve system performance and equipment reliability.
  • Participate in emergency repairs and rotating on-call schedules as required


Education and Experience

  • Prior electrical experience strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting
  • High School Diploma / GED equivalent required
