Fisher Associates is seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Project Manager - Highway & Civil Infrastructure to lead a diverse portfolio of highway and transportation engineering projects across New York State. As a senior leader, you will help shape project strategy, strengthen key agency partnerships, and influence the continued growth of our transportation practice. In this role, you will manage projects from scoping and safety analysis through design, PS&E development, permitting, and construction support, partnering with NYSDOT, municipalities, and other public agencies.


Our team delivers roadway, intersection, and corridor improvements that enhance safety and mobility in the communities we serve. What You'll Do as a Senior Highway Project Manager

  • Successfully lead highway transportation projects from initial setup through planning, safety analysis, and project kick-off.
  • Manage project budgets, scope, schedule, and staffing to ensure successful and timely project delivery.
  • Lead design strategy and collaborate with teams, clients, partners, and stakeholders to align with client goals and ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Oversee project billing, client updates, QA/QC of deliverables, and project closeout.
  • Provide clear direction, motivation, and mentorship to team members.
  • Prepare winning project proposals and serve as primary client contact throughout the process.
  • Support new business development efforts in collaboration with the Client Services team by delivering exceptional service, promoting Fisher's capabilities, and building lasting client relationships.
  • Successfully navigate and implement complex public processes and municipal approvals.
  • Represent Fisher Associates in professional organizations, business boards, and community activities.

Requirements

What You Bring, Your Expertise as a Senior Highway Project Manager

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
  • 10+ years in civil transportation engineering, including highway design project management
  • Demonstrated experience managing highway design transportation projects from design through delivery.
  • Professional Engineering License (PE)
  • Demonstrated success in developing trusted, long-term client relationships
  • Proficiency in MS Office; MicroStation preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing NYSDOT highway design projects and federally funded transportation programs
  • Dedicated to fostering trusting relationships through collaboration, integrity, respect, and active listening
  • Deliver high-quality work using critical thinking, sound judgment, and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proactively own projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, growth environment.

Salary Range: $120,000-$155,000

Actual compensation will vary based on experience, qualifications, and other factors. The listed salary range does not guarantee specific pay or reflect total compensation and excludes the value of benefits.
