Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time, on-site Audio Visual Programmer to program, configure, and troubleshoot AV control systems, audio DSPs, and related components for installed systems in commercial, educational, and worship environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot AV control systems, audio DSPs, and associated equipment.

  • Collaborate with project managers and installation teams to interpret system designs and requirements.

  • Write, test, and deploy control code for AV systems.

  • Load firmware and integrate displays, projectors, switchers, audio systems, and other AV devices.

  • Perform on-site commissioning, functional testing, and system verification.

  • Document programming configurations and system settings.

  • Provide technical guidance during installation and post-installation support.

  • Diagnose and resolve field issues and recommend improvements to programming standards and system designs.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in AV control system programming (Crestron, AMX, Extron, or similar platforms).

  • Basic familiarity with audio DSP configuration.

  • Working knowledge of low-voltage systems, AV signal flow, and device integration, including displays, projectors, switchers, microphones, and amplifiers.

  • Understanding of networking fundamentals related to AV systems, including IP addressing, VLANs, switches, and security best practices.

  • Ability to read and interpret AV system drawings, signal flow diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed and support occasional after-hours or weekend work based on project schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical training or certifications in AV, IT, or electronics (e.g., AVIXA CTS, manufacturer certifications, or equivalent experience).
