Job Summary:
Responsible for handling all legal matters which are the result of an assigned caseload, attorney involvement, or client escalation.  This includes, but is not limited to, hearings, pleadings, oversight and working with clerical staff.  This position reports directly to the Firm’s President.  

 Job Duties:
  • Maintain a dedicated caseload.
  • File review, including document review and requests.
  • Settlement negotiations.
  • Review, draft, and sign legal pleadings.
  • Attend court hearings.
  • Communicate with clients regarding settlements and/or any other legal issue that needs to be escalated.
  • Work on special projects and other tasks as requested (this includes but is not limited to filing documents in court(s), assigning attorneys to court appearances, approving outside counsel invoices, etc.
  • Handle any other relevant legal issue related to the job responsibilities.
  • Update system of record with notes of work efforts and status changes on cases.

Job Requirements:
  • Undergraduate Degree.
  • Juris Doctor Degree.
  • License to practice law in the State of Michigan (dual licensed in Ohio a plus).
  • Maintain good standing in courts of any jurisdiction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
