Job Title: Production Associate / CNC TraineeJob Description

A cutting-edge, mission-driven manufacturing company is seeking a motivated Production Associate / Assembler to support the production and assembly of innovative housing products. This hands-on role is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy building, working with tools, and learning new skills in a fast-paced production environment. You will contribute directly to the creation of high-quality housing components while gaining exposure to advanced manufacturing processes, including CNC machine operation.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble components and products using hand tools, power tools, and torque wrenches.
  • Follow blueprints, diagrams, work instructions, and production schedules to complete assemblies accurately and on time.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment and machinery safely and efficiently in a production setting.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting during production and identify quality issues, escalating concerns when necessary.
  • Conduct inspections to verify product quality and ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Maintain accurate production records to support product traceability and documentation requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by suggesting process enhancements and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
  • Cross-train in different areas of production, including CNC machine operation and other manufacturing processes.
  • Work collaboratively with team members in an all-hands-on-deck environment, taking ownership of tasks beyond core duties when needed.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 2+ recent years of mechanical assembly experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools, power tools, and torque wrenches confidently.
  • Proficiency in reading a tape measure and using standard measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents.
  • Experience with general production activities, including assembly, inspection, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Strong attention to detail with a consistent focus on producing high-quality work.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and address basic mechanical or process issues.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as part of daily work duties.
  • Capability to work effectively in a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Schedule flexibility, including the ability to work variable hours and possible Saturdays as production needs require.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Interest in learning CNC machine operation and advanced manufacturing skills.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, start-up production environment where priorities can shift.
  • Adaptable, high-initiative mindset with a willingness to take on responsibilities across the team or organization.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and production records for traceability.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, builders, and production teammates.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to established operating procedures.
  • Desire for long-term career growth within a rapidly expanding manufacturing organization.
Why Work Here?

You will join a mission-driven organization focused on solving America’s housing affordability crisis through high-scale, vertically integrated production. The company brings together engineers, designers, and builders in a collaborative environment where every team member plays a meaningful role in building the American dream. As one of the first core hires, you will have a unique opportunity to shape processes, influence culture, and grow your career as the company expands. Employees benefit from a start-up atmosphere that values ownership, initiative, and continuous learning, with clear opportunities to develop advanced manufacturing skills, including CNC operation, and to advance as production scales.

Work Environment

The role is based in a start-up, manufacturing-focused environment that operates with an all-hands-on-deck, do-whatever-it-takes level of ownership. You will work in a non-climate controlled production facility that moves quickly to meet ambitious output goals, requiring comfort with standing for long periods and performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs. The atmosphere is fast-paced, mission-driven, and energized by leadership committed to tackling the housing crisis through innovative production. Team members collaborate closely across disciplines, and you will have the chance to be one of the very first hires, playing an integral part in launching the production line and brand with substantial career growth opportunities as the operation scales.
