Solutions Architecture Associate Director

The Solutions Architecture Associate Director is a highly proficient, hands-on solution architect for RSM custom solutions. This role owns end-to-end microservice and API architecture for assigned solutions, defines Domain-Driven Design boundaries and event-driven patterns on Azure Service Bus, and sets engineering standards across React frontend and .NET/Python backend teams. The role operates with growing autonomy across the custom solutions estate and represents designs in architecture reviews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business and product requirements into end-to-end solution designs for RSM custom solutions spanning multiple frontend and backend services.
  • Design microservice and API architectures for custom-built solutions; define service boundaries using Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles.
  • Architect event-driven integration patterns using Azure Service Bus; define message schemas, topic/subscription models, and error-handling strategies.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices across frontend (React) and backend (.NET / Python) teams.
  • Ensure non-functional requirements (security, scalability, resiliency, observability) are embedded into all solution designs.
  • Lead architecture and design reviews for new features, technical initiatives, and third-party integrations within assigned solutions.
  • Produce and maintain architecture decision records (ADRs), high-level design (HLD) documents, and API specifications (OpenAPI/Swagger).
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and engineering leads to shape technical roadmaps.
  • Provide technical mentorship to senior engineers and conduct design and code reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years of software engineering or architecture experience, with at least 4 years in a solution architect role on complex, multi-service platforms.
  • Expert-level proficiency in designing microservices architectures and RESTful / GraphQL APIs.
  • Deep hands-on experience with React (frontend architecture) and .NET and/or Python (backend services).
  • Strong experience with Azure cloud services, including Azure Service Bus, Azure API Management, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure DevOps.
  • Advanced understanding of Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, Event Sourcing, and distributed systems patterns.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes), and DevSecOps practices.
  • Working knowledge of OpenID Connect / OAuth 2.0 and fine-grained authorization in multi-tenant SaaS environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience presenting designs to senior technology stakeholders.
  • Professional services or B2B SaaS product experience is advantageous.

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $147,000 - $260,700

Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
