About this Position
GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position will facilitate learning for an associate in applied science degrees in the Civil Engineering/Surveying Technologies program. The focus of this instructional position will include teaching courses in Surveying, Land Law, Properties of Soils, and Transportation.
Required Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying or related discipline from an accredited college or university; master's degree highly preferred and will need to be obtained within a reasonable amount of time upon hire.
  • Other combinations of education and industry experience may be substituted for degree requirement with appropriate approval.

Experience:
  • Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
  • Five (5) years documented successful work experience in related industry.
  • Teaching experience in Higher Education preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with diverse constituencies.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Licensure/Certification:
  • Valid Oklahoma driver's license will be required if performing the functions of the position requires the use of a personal or university vehicle.
  • PLS license preferred.
  • EI licensure as a Professional Engineer preferred.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge and skill in the latest technology of the field including AutoCAD, and various software packages found in industry.
  • Ability to plan, organize and fulfill complex initiatives.
  • Computer skills to include electronic communications, word processing, and the ability to use specific software associated with the position are necessary.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of work, initiative, commitment, ethics, professional responsibility and judgment.
  • Ability to work effectively with and promote various populations.
  • Superior interpersonal skills-including the ability to effectively recognize and resolve complex problems in a constructive manner.
  • Must exhibit characteristics of a team player, willing to take initiative and assume responsibility.
  • Ability to foster and support innovation and excellence.

Communication Skills:
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively recognize and resolve conflict.
