Job Description Title: CNC Regional Applications Engineer Comp: $100,000-$140,000 + Profit Sharing Location: New England, Michigan, or Southern California (Remote within Territory) Travel: Up to 40% Regional Travel Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a CNC Regional Applications Engineer direct hire position supporting one of several key territories across the United States. Responsibilities: Review customer part prints, time studies, and machine quotations to develop complete machining solutions Develop advanced machining processes utilizing turn-mill technology, best practices, and cycle time optimization Write, modify, validate, and optimize CNC programs for customer applications and machine demonstrations Utilize CAD/CAM software to develop machining strategies, tooling layouts, and process validation plans Independently select tooling, work-holding, and accessories for customer projects, including both OEM and third-party tooling solutions Develop all supporting documentation related to tooling, work-holding, setup requirements, and project execution Plan projects from virtual machine preparation through final machine acceptance Set up, troubleshoot, and debug CNC machines to ensure customer requirements are achieved Coordinate machine runoffs, customer acceptance testing, and final machine validation Deliver comprehensive customer training on machine operation, programming, process optimization, and troubleshooting Interpret CMM reports and SPC data to evaluate process capability, quality performance, and production stability Provide technical expertise and project status updates to internal departments and leadership teams Build and maintain strong customer relationships through ongoing technical support, site visits, training, and follow-up communication Support customers with process development, cycle time improvements, machine optimization, and production challenges Manage an assigned territory independently while serving as the primary technical resource for customers in the region Travel up to 40% throughout assigned territory for customer support, machine installations, training, and troubleshooting Required Skills (Must Have): 10+ years of CNC programming, CNC applications engineering, machining process development, or related experience Strong expertise with CNC turning, mill-turn, or advanced turning center technologies Hands-on experience with CNC setup, operation, troubleshooting, and G-code programming Associate's degree or higher in Machine Tool Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field Metal cutting experience in production machining environments (not wood or plastics) Fanuc or Siemens controls experience Proven ability to independently manage projects, customer relationships, and technical responsibilities Experience supporting manufacturing operations where engineering and project management were critical to success Strong understanding of machining process development, tooling selection, and work-holding solutions Excellent communication and customer-facing skills Ability to work autonomously while supporting customers across a large geographic territory Preferred Skills (Nice to Have): CAD/CAM software experience Customer-facing applications engineering or technical sales support experience Project management experience Deep understanding of time studies, cycle time optimization, and first-part runoffs Experience with Swiss machines, multi-spindle machines, sliding headstock machines, or advanced turn-mill equipment Experience interpreting CMM reports and SPC data Knowledge of automation systems, robotics, and integrated manufacturing solutions Experience training customers and developing machining best practices #ID9515
