Summary
Responsibilities of the SAP Application Developer include analysis, programming, and configuration of end user applications and/or systems software including: Analyzing detailed business/functional/technical requirements and specifications for the application. Coding internally developed applications and/or configuring commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications using programming, scripting, and database languages. Supports application testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding application enhancements.
What You'll Do
  • Design and develop ABAP-based solutions in SAP S/4HANA, adhering to Clean Core principles
  • Design, enhance, and review WRICEF objects including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, workflows, and forms
  • Develop high-performance S/4HANA solutions using ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, AMDP, OData, and RAP
  • Oversee Fiori/UI5 development, Launchpad configurations, and OData service enablement
  • Develop applications using ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP)
  • Implement side-by-side and in-app extensibility using SAP recommended frameworks
  • Avoid core modifications and leverage BAdIs, enhancements, APIs, and extensibility options
  • Own and design integrations using CPI, PI/PO, APIs, IDocs, Web Services, and RFC/BAPI frameworks
  • Lead data migration activities using Migration Cockpit, BODS, and custom programs
  • Collaborate with Basis and Security teams on transports, performance tuning, roles, and authorizations
  • Ensure technical quality through code reviews, ATC checks, testing, debugging, and performance optimization
  • Guide onsite/offshore teams, mentor developers, and manage task distribution
  • Support cutover and post-go-live stabilization, resolving issues and ensuring smooth hypercare
  • Define development standards, coding guidelines, and Clean Core strategies
  • Review Functional Specifications (FS) before development
  • Prepare and review Technical Specifications (TS)
  • Provide technical status, risks, and updates to Project Managers/PMO
  • Ensure compliance with audit, security, and development standards

Education
A bachelor's degree relevant to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.
Experience
This position may be filled at one of three levels outlined below, based on the candidate's relevant education, experience, or a combination of both that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and competencies.
  • Level I - Associate: In lieu of a degree, 4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 4 years may be considered.
  • Level 2 - Journey: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required. In lieu of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 6 years may be considered.
  • Level 3 - Senior: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required. In lieu of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 9 years may be considered.

Eligibility for advancement (progression) to the next level in the same role is based on overall job performance, mastery of all functional responsibilities, and time in position, as assessed by the supervisor.

  • Strong understanding of SAP Clean Core strategy, including avoidance of standard modifications, use of released APIs and extension points, and adoption of side-by-side extensions (preferably on SAP BTP)
  • Good knowledge of Fiori/UI5
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology

Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
