Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst will provide business financial planning, reporting and analysis, and deliver month-end close with full P&L exposure. The role will be 1 of 3 analysts on the team and report directly to the Director of FP&A.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with department heads to lead budgeting and forecasting efforts - from Revenue through Net Income including
  • Headcount - delivering function and customer-specific P&Ls.
  • Assist with executing and managing P&L to budget/forecast targets, while proactively identifying areas of risk & opportunity. 
  • Prepare month end close packages and lead the analysis and communication of variances and drivers.
  • Liaison with accounting during month end close to identify potential reclasses, accruals or other JEs to ensure the accuracy of the financial results - in aggregate, and at an account, function and customer-specific level. 
  • Leverage solid Excel and financial modeling skills to develop and maintain financial models used in reporting, analysis, and financial forecasting.
  • Audit invoices and billbacks to ensure accuracy and 100% captured revenue.
  • Support in the rollout of new technologies, financial models, and process improvements in the department.
  • Support and address ad hoc requests and analyses as needed.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or equivalent work experience required.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP; high level of business acumen; highly motivated and dedicated individual.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; well organized, detail oriented; strong oral and written communication skills; effective problem

  • solver with creative solutions. 

  • 1-3 years experience in an FP&A role. Multi-family industry experience a plus.

  • Excel, Adaptive Insights, Yardi, SalesForce, and Tableau experience preferred.

  • Advanced Excel knowledge required; vlookups, sumif(s), pivot tables, etc.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to read documents, computer screens and data
  • Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer
  • May occasionally be required to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 pounds
  • Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment

Work Environment:

  • This is a hybrid role, requiring the associate to work in our Austin or Phoenix office 3 days per week
  • The office is an open setting which may include bright lights, constant noises and distractions
