Associate Account Executive – B2B Software Sales

Business Forecast Systems (BFS)

Location: Waltham, MA | Hybrid

Employment Type: Full-Time

About Business Forecast Systems

Business Forecast Systems (BFS), the creator of Forecast Pro, is a long-standing leader in business and demand forecasting software. Forecast Pro helps organizations improve demand planning, inventory management, supply chain decision-making, and business forecasting.

We are seeking an Associate Account Executive to join our sales team and help build qualified pipeline and create new business opportunities.

About the Role

This is an entry-level B2B technology sales position designed for someone who wants to build a long-term career in sales. You will learn how to identify and research prospective customers, engage decision-makers, qualify business needs, and create opportunities for our Account Executives.

You will work across phone, email, LinkedIn, and other sales-development channels while developing a strong understanding of Forecast Pro and the business problems it solves.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research target companies, industries, and decision-makers to identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Conduct targeted outbound prospecting through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels.
  • Develop personalized outreach based on account research and prospect needs.
  • Follow up consistently with prospective customers and convert outreach into meaningful sales conversations.
  • Respond to inbound inquiries and conduct initial discovery conversations.
  • Qualify prospects based on business need, timing, organizational fit, and potential opportunity.
  • Schedule qualified discovery meetings and product demonstrations for Account Executives.
  • Maintain accurate prospect, activity, and pipeline information in Salesforce.
  • Re-engage previous and dormant leads when new opportunities arise.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to identify new market opportunities and improve lead-generation efforts.

  • What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you will:

    • Build and maintain a healthy prospect pipeline.
    • Consistently generate new sales conversations through outbound prospecting.
    • Develop strong knowledge of Forecast Pro and the business problems it solves.
    • Build credibility with prospective customers and effectively uncover business needs.
    • Consistently achieve agreed-upon business-development and pipeline-generation goals.
    • Develop the skills and customer relationships necessary to progress into an Account Executive role.

  • Qualifications

    Required

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Interest in building a career in B2B technology sales.
    • Comfortable communicating with prospective customers by phone, email, and virtual meetings.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to research companies and learn about their business challenges.
    • Self-directed, curious, competitive, and results-oriented mindset.
    • Ability to manage multiple prospects and consistently follow up.

    Preferred

    • Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience.
    • Internship or previous experience in sales, business development, customer service, recruiting, lead generation, or another customer-facing role.
    • Experience with CRM or sales-intelligence platforms.
    • Experience with LinkedIn, prospecting, cold outreach, or lead generation.
    • Interest or experience in B2B software, technology, supply chain, forecasting, analytics, or business operations.

    Ideal Candidate

You are someone who enjoys meeting new people, learning how businesses operate, and turning an initial conversation into a meaningful business relationship.

You understand that successful prospecting requires research, personalization, persistence, and thoughtful follow-up—not simply sending as many messages as possible.

Most importantly, you're interested in developing a long-term career in B2B technology sales and are motivated by measurable results and professional growth.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Expected On-Target Earnings: $80,000–$100,000
    • Base $75,000
    • Year-end profit-sharing opportunity
    • Health & Dental insurance
    • 401(k)
    • Hybrid work environment
