About Arkansas Periodontal & Implant Associates:

Arkansas Periodontal and Implant Associates, are your periodontists in Arkansas, for quality care and advanced periodontal therapy treatments. We are a well-established periodontal practice and devoted to each and every one of our patients and staff members. We educate our patients on how to maintain healthy teeth and gums for a lifetime and work hard to ensure they get the highest level of care on every visit. We have three locations; Fort Smith, Fayetteville and Rogers. Dr. Pierce Osborne, Dr. Michael Curry, Dr. Wes Shelton and Dr. Brandon Breard, provide a full range of services along with dedicated patient care. Our Dental Assistants have the skills, responsibilities, tasks and expectations to assist/support the doctors in delivering exceptional care to all patients under the guidance and support of our periodontist.

Working under the Direction of the periodontist, the tasks and responsibilities of a Dental Assistant include but are but not limited to:

  • Provides chair-side clinical support to Doctors during periodontal and surgical procedures
  • Greet and escort patients to treatment rooms and help them feel comfortable and at ease to ensure a positive patient experience
  • Captures and processes radiographs and assist with clinical documentation and charting at the direction of the Periodontist
  • Maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols for treatment rooms and for periodontal and surgical procedures
  • Provide patient education and post-operative instructions
  • Monitors all laboratory cases and ensure they are ready for the next day's schedule
  • Work collaboratively with the clinical and admirative team to support overall practice success
  • Sets up/breaks down rooms and operatories to ensure a safe environment for the patients and Dentists
  • Has a "yes mentality" when helping patients
  • Makes a positive first impression with patients by phone or in person
  • Be a champion of the Arkansas Periodontal & Implant Associates, Vison, and Values
  • Make sure ALL patients have an extraordinary experience
  • Hold self accountable for successful completion of projects, job duties, and all company deliverables
  • Exhibit outstanding customer service with patient as priority; partnering with staff, timely and successfully resolve patient complaints, concerns and questions.
