Job description

Assist Ambulance is looking for a Billing Specialist to join our team! Assist is a New York City EMS agency offering a full range of BLS and ALS emergency medical and transportation services throughout the five boroughs. Assist has a proud 30 year history of providing emergency medical services to the diverse and vibrant communities of NYC. Assist Ambulance offers Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support via emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports for various hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, doctor's offices, and community-based organizations. 


Job Duties:

  • Work with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance
  • Review claims for accuracy and assist with follow-up
  • Check insurance eligibility using online portals and boards


Requirements:

  • Must be available Mon-Fri from 11a-7p
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up skills
  • Insurance or billing experience is a plus (we train)
  • Responsible and dependable
  • Comfortable using computers and websites
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical - collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data
  • Easy-going, professional and personable with strong customer service skills in high-stress situations
