Job description

Overview

At Big Sky Resort, our Food & Beverage Receivers are the backbone of our on-mountain dining operations, working independently to ensure supplies and equipment reach every location precisely when needed. You'll combine logistics expertise with machinery operation in Montana's rugged terrain, taking ownership of complex deliveries that keep our restaurants running seamlessly. This physically demanding role offers the unique opportunity to master snowcat operation while maintaining the meticulous standards that make exceptional dining possible. It's ideal for those who appreciate hard work and want to earn their powder laps on some of the best terrain in North America. If you thrive on reliability, problem-solving, and making a tangible impact behind the scenes, you'll find your place in this essential position at one of the world's premier mountain destinations.

Responsibilities

As a Receiver at Big Sky Resort, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Receive, verify, and document food and beverage deliveries with precision, ensuring invoice accuracy and product quality
  • Communicate with vendors regarding discrepancies or damaged goods
  • Maintain well-organized and impeccably clean storerooms, with proper product rotation and labeling
  • Safely operate snowcats to transport goods from the Base Area to on-mountain restaurants—often in challenging conditions
  • Conduct and document daily inspections of machinery and equipment
  • Support restaurant operations by transporting firewood, clearing snow, placing patio furniture, and maintaining exterior cleanliness
  • Manage waste disposal, including trash, recycling, and keg returns
  • Assist with team member transport and supply runs
  • Keep all fuel tanks filled and equipment operating efficiently
  • Collaborate regularly with restaurant leadership, chefs, and the vehicle maintenance team
  • Uphold all safety procedures, resort policies, and cleanliness standards
  • Participate in daily meetings, team check-ins, and training opportunities
  • Remain flexible and ready to assist with a wide variety of tasks to support your team and our guests

  • Calm under pressure and confident with problem solving
  • Physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds overhead
  • Willing and able to work early mornings, night shifts, weekends, and holidays
