Part-time
Summit School an independent school located in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking assistant coaches for our Varsity baseball team made of 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade students. The assistant coach will be responsible for attending practices and games and will help manage the overall program throughout the baseball season. The season is in the spring (February to May).
Job Type: Part-time
Seasonal/Temporary
  • Time commitment of 10-20 hours per week.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a proven aptitude for coaching as illustrated by a strong work ethic and organizational skills.
  • Maintain proper control and discipline in a positive manner by establishing good, wholesome rapport through healthy, professional relationships among students involved in our athletic programs.
  • Assist the head coach in executing effective practices.
  • Assist the head coach in executing game strategy.
  • Travel when necessary.

General Statement of Duties:
Position is responsible for assisting the head coach in demonstrating, and explaining basic skills, knowledge, and strategies of baseball. To prepare our student athletes for competition and to motivate them to develop an appreciation of the sport. Qualified candidates encourage positive individual sportsmanship and team skills and develop lifelong learning skills in each student athlete.

Physical demands include:
  • Ability to visually monitor students.
  • Ability to operate fitness equipment.
  • Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 25 lbs.), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, and moving equipment/boxes (up to 25 lbs.)
