Work Environment

This position allows for a remote working environment while maintaining a structured outpatient facility model. You will engage in meaningful therapy sessions with clients through virtual means, utilizing state-of-the-art technology to connect and provide support. Our organizational culture values work-life balance, ensuring our therapists have a manageable schedule, typically during regular business hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed assessments to gauge the severity and nature of mood disorder symptoms, ensuring that each client's individual history is comprehensively understood.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to create personalized treatment plans that align with their specific needs, preferences, and therapeutic goals.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), adapting approaches to suit each client's unique circumstances.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, available treatment options, and essential self-care practices that can enhance their recovery journey.
  • Continuously monitor and document client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to provide optimal care.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive treatment delivery, participating in regular case consultations to discuss client progress.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about advancements in mood disorder treatment and refine therapeutic techniques.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential records of all client interactions and treatment processes, adhering to ethical and legal standards in documentation.
  • Advocate for clients by promoting awareness of mental health issues and combating stigma associated with mood disorders through community engagement.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice primarily serves individuals dealing with a range of mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related conditions. The role of the Mental Health Therapist will focus on providing empathetic and professional support to these clients, recognizing the diversity within their experiences and backgrounds. This position emphasizes culturally competent care to effectively address the unique needs of each individual.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree or doctorate in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of New Jersey.
  • Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for mood disorders, including CBT and DBT methods.
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, enabling effective collaboration with all medical professionals involved in client care.
  • A proven history of positive outcomes in treating clients with mood disorders, showcasing clinical effectiveness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering a strong rapport with clients from various backgrounds.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in mental health counseling, specifically in treating mood disorders.
  • Experience in a remote therapy setting is preferred but not required.
