Job description

GENERAL FUNCTION

Under the direct supervision of the Property Manager the position will be responsible for maintaining buildings, grounds, and equipment. Filling in and assisting with housekeeping and grounds keeping where and when needed. Responsible for repair, maintenance, and general upkeep of camp facilities and equipment. Also performs Preventative maintenance.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITES

  • Performs minor equipment maintenance and manual labor as directed by the property manager
  • May oversee special projects assigned by the Association Director of Buildings and Property or Camp Property Manager
  • May train and or provide guidance to other camp maintenance staff or teams assigned to projects
  • Assist Buildings and grounds staff in conducting weekly equipment maintenance and safety checks
  • Assist housekeeping staff with in janitorial duties
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Assist with and performs building maintenance and repairs
  • Performs and records preventative maintenance task

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to walk, stand or bend for prolonged periods, stretching, pushing, pulling or kneeling.
  • Ability to operate mowers and weed eaters.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds on occasion
  • Ability to push or pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments (i.e. indoor, outdoor, summer heat and cold)

  • Acquaint guest with other camp programs and benefits
  • Develop relationships that promote the building of small communities
  • Recommend participation in a variety of camp programs
  • Support our camp annual campaign, and invite guest to participate
  • Be able to articulate the role and importance of volunteers
