GATE OPERATOR


This Logistics company is looking for a dependable Gate Operator who can learn quickly, adapt to changing operational needs, and work independently once trained. In this role, you will support gate operations by meeting truck drivers, documenting truck and container information, using a tablet, tagging containers, and auditing information on site
This logistics company is a third-party distributor for retail clients and has been a worldwide leader in shipping and storage for more than 40 years.
Work Environment:
This is a busy shipping container yard with a gate house, guard shack, large garage, and outdoor storage areas. You will spend time outdoors in all weather conditions and will work around trucks, trailers, and other vehicles.
Gate Operator Duties:
  • Meet truck drivers as they enter and leave the facility.
  • Document driver, truck, container, and load details.
  • Use a tablet to complete gate operations and data entry.
  • Tag containers and audit container information on site.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and communicate appropriately with employees, customers, and supervisors.
Schedule:
  • Training: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Day Shift: Monday-Friday, with possible start times of 6:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m., or 8:00 a.m.
  • Swing Shift: Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Must be flexible with start and end times.
  • Must be flexible to work at either the Taylor Way or Alexander yard based on operational needs.
  • Overtime may be required during peak season.

Pay: $19.75 per hour

Gate Operator Requirements:
  • 1 Year of computer knowledge/ Data entry
  • 6 months of Warehouse experience
  • Ability to learn and operate a tablet after training.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision once trained.
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and work locations.( Yards are next to each other)
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around active truck traffic.
  • Strong attendance, reliability, and attention to detail.
