Job description

Job Description :

Page Six provides readers with the best in Pop Culture and Entertainment - with signature wit, irreverence and authority averaging 25 million unique viewers a month. For the past 224 years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television and commerce.

The Page Six video team is seeking an in-office Video Editor who will help us make existing series and compelling, shareable videos about reality TV: the shows, the personalities, the characters. Like us, you believe news doesn't have to be boring and you appreciate the odd and unconventional stories as well as important ones. You should possess deep knowledge about the latest celebrity gossip, feuds, scandals and hookups. You should live and breathe reality TV lifestyle, fashion and social media, with your fingers on the pulse.

This is a fast-paced job that requires a love of all things celebrity, a strong editorial sense and the ability to stay organized while multitasking. You'll work in an extremely fast-paced environment enabling producers to hit production targets and goals. You will assist on dozens of videos throughout the day, taking lead from the producers and studio technical director.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit high quality, engaging short form videos focused on celebrity news, reality television, entertainment, and pop culture for digital and social media platforms.

  • Transform original footage, stock footage, archival assets, and social media content into compelling, shareable video content.

  • Collaborate closely with producers and the Studio Technical Director to execute a high volume of daily video productions while consistently meeting tight deadlines.

  • Maintain exceptional speed and accuracy in video editing without compromising creativity or editorial quality.

  • Create visually dynamic content using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Adobe Motion Graphics templates.

  • Generate and pitch fresh video concepts daily that align with trending celebrity news, reality TV, and audience interests.

  • Participate in editorial meetings and brainstorming sessions to develop innovative multimedia storytelling ideas.

  • Monitor celebrity news, entertainment, reality television, fashion, social media, and digital trends to identify timely content opportunities.

  • Ensure all content aligns with Page Six's editorial voice, brand standards, and quality expectations.

  • Stay current on emerging digital video formats, platform best practices, and audience engagement trends to continuously improve content performance.

  • Manage multiple editing projects simultaneously while remaining highly organized in a fast paced newsroom environment.

  • Collaborate with cross functional editorial and production teams to deliver timely, accurate, and engaging video content.

  • Contribute to production goals by supporting the efficient execution of daily publishing schedules across digital platforms.

  • Exercise strong editorial judgment when selecting footage, pacing stories, and crafting narratives that resonate with digital audiences.

  • Help evolve existing video franchises while identifying opportunities to develop new recurring series and formats.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience editing high volume, digital first video content in a fast paced newsroom, entertainment, or media environment.

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro. Experience with After Effects and Photoshop strongly preferred.

  • Experience editing with a combination of original footage, stock footage, archival assets, and social media content.

  • Ability to create engaging horizontal and vertical videos optimized for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, and other digital platforms.

  • Strong understanding of platform specific video formats, audience behaviors, and emerging digital video trends.

  • Deep knowledge of celebrity news, reality television, pop culture, entertainment, and social media, with the ability to identify timely content opportunities.

  • Ability to edit quickly and efficiently while maintaining exceptional editorial judgment, creativity, and attention to detail under tight deadlines.

  • Experience with multicamera editing, color correction, audio mixing, and pacing content for maximum audience engagement.

  • Motion graphics, basic animation, and experience using Adobe Motion Graphics templates are a plus.

  • Strong instinct for selecting music and sound design that enhances storytelling and complements the tone of each video.

  • Ability to generate, pitch, and develop fresh video concepts daily while contributing meaningfully to editorial brainstorming sessions.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate closely with Executive Producers, Producers, Studio Technical Directors, social teams, and cross functional newsroom partners.

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing competing deadlines, planning for contingencies, and adapting quickly in a rapidly changing news environment.

  • Highly organized, proactive, and self motivated, with the ability to work independently while thriving as part of a collaborative team.

  • Positive, solutions oriented attitude with a passion for creative storytelling and a belief that news can be engaging, entertaining, and shareable.

  • Ability to make sound editorial decisions and maintain accuracy while working under pressure.

  • Flexibility to work a nontraditional schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and major news or entertainment events as needed.

Note: The New York Post adheres to an on-site work model. This role will be expected to report into the office 5 days per week.
