Job description

ASE Seeks a Motor Vehicle Dispatcher to support the PFPA LSS program. The Motor Vehicle Dispatcher serves as a liaison between the Motor Vehicle Operators and PFPA FALD Fleet Management office (s) to monitor incidents related to PFPA motor vehicle operations, e.g., accidents, breakdowns, etc.; informs appropriate supervisory staff of known or possible issues and provides follow-up communications.   • A motor vehicle dispatcher is responsible for scheduling and dispatching various vehicles such as passenger, cargo, and bus.
  • They monitor alarm systems to detect illegal entry and ensure the serviceability of communication equipment.
  • They calculate penalty fees and maintain complete vehicle logs using fleet management information systems.
  • Motor vehicle dispatchers also maintain records of mileage, fuel usage, and costs.
  • They process documents, enter police-related data, and manage operator vehicle inspections.
  • Additionally, they assist vehicle operators during breakdowns and resolve customer complaints.

  • The Dispatcher may establish service or delivery routes, supervise loading and unloading, issue equipment to drivers, (such as hand trucks, dollies, and blankets), direct activities of drivers, assign helpers to drivers, work at vehicle distribution centers, and assign vehicles to customer agencies.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a dispatcher.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of dispatch codes and phonetic alphabet.
  • Able to work for extended hours under stressful conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Secret or higher clearance is required.
