Job description

Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements:
Education:
Master’s degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.D or J.D., if related. 
NOTE: Graduate education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
OR
Experience:
One year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. 
Some examples of this qualifying experience are:

  • Experience maintaining various types of firearms and weapons, to include conducting technical inspections, tests, and making repairs.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining various types of locks and locking systems used in a correctional or similar secure facility.
  • Experience in the use of emergency entry equipment, riot control equipment, chemical munitions, and other types of emergency response equipment, to include ensuring such equipment is in good operational condition.

Combination of Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience. This experience must have equipped you with the qualifications to perform the major duties of this position as described above.
If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities.
