Job description

Job Summary:
Unity is the worldโ€™s leading game engine, powering play for more than 3 billion consumers each month. They are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join their LiveOps team, responsible for building a first-party webshops platform that enhances game developers' ability to route players to browser-based stores.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Design, build, and maintain conversion-focused webshop front-ends and multi-tenant backend services with strong reliability and SLA expectations.
โ€ข Ensure end-to-end quality across the stack, including performance, security, observability, and maintainability.
โ€ข Work in a small team to ship the initial GA version of Unity's webshops product.
โ€ข Rapidly iterate on features based on real customer usage and feedback.
โ€ข Prototype and refine features directly with game teams integrating the webshop into their titles.
โ€ข Collaborate with the team to shape requirements, propose UX flows, and influence the roadmap.
โ€ข Translate high-level product ideas into concrete specs, technical designs, and shipped software.
โ€ข Use AI tools aggressively throughout the development lifecycle for coding, scaffolding, refactoring, debugging, and exploratory design.
โ€ข Help the team define what AI-first engineering best practices look like in reality.
โ€ข Help define the technical foundations that will support many shops and customers; i.e. multi-tenancy, configuration, extensibility, etc.
โ€ข Influence how this effort evolves into a larger platform, organization, or dedicated product line over time.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Extensive full-stack engineering experience, with a proven track record of independently building and shipping user-facing web products end-to-end.
โ€ข Strong front-end skills with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue), with attention to UX, performance, and conversion-oriented design.
โ€ข Strong backend skills building scalable, multi-tenant services and APIs, including reliability, observability, and performance tuning in production.
โ€ข Comfortable working across the full stack, from database to UI; language-flexible, with Golang experience as a plus.
โ€ข Actively uses AI today to enhance development and is excited to push the limits of AI-assisted workflows.
โ€ข Experience working closely with PMs to shape requirements and make tradeoffs, comfortable with ambiguity and incomplete specs, and inclined to propose solutions rather than wait for direction.
โ€ข Genuine interest in games and the gaming ecosystem.
โ€ข Thrives in small, autonomous teams with high expectations and a strong bias for shipping v1s quickly.
Preferred:
โ€ข Experience in game monetization, webshops, e-commerce (especially loyalty, personalization, or growth mechanics), payments and checkout infrastructure, or developer-facing platforms.
Company:
Unity [NYSE: U] offers a suite of tools to create, market, and grow games and interactive experiences across all major platforms from mobile, PC, and console, to extended reality.
