RISE Equipment Rental is the equipment division of J. Davis Inc., a family-owned organization providing construction, grading, supplemental maintenance, and industrial services to South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina. With four divisions and five offices in the coastal and upstate regions of South Carolina, we are proud to offer superior services to the southeastern United States.
Our Equipment Division RISE is now seeking a dynamic and results-driven Tool amp; Equipment Support Technician. This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the Tool Crib, while also providing support to the Equipment Coordinator, Mechanics, and COO on a variety of tasks.
Job Duties amp; Responsibilities:
  • Assist the receipt, storage, issuance, and maintenance of tools and small equipment. Ensure tools are in good working condition, manage necessary repairs or replacements, and maintain accurate inventory records and optimal stock levels.
  • Assist with regular maintenance and repairs, assist with or subcontract complex tool repairs, and ensure all tools and equipment are maintained according to schedules. Perform periodic maintenance, including organizing the lay-down yard and small equipment.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate records of tool usage, maintenance schedules, and inventory levels. Prepare reports as needed for management review.
  • Assist with implementation and monitoring processes to enhance operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and ensure the tool crib operates within budgetary constraints. Identify opportunities to improve tool crib operations, including inventory management practices and workflow processes.
  • Assist in interaction with customers to fulfill tool and equipment requests, address issues or concerns promptly and professionally, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with validating all tools and small equipment that are used and stored in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist the Asset Specialist Coordinator with administrative tasks such as software and tracking.
  • Assist with receiving and distributing incoming packages and materials for projects.
  • Assist the Mechanics to perform maintenance and repairs on company owned equipment and vehicles
  • Clean and wash company assets as needed.
  • Assist in the delivery and pickup of J Davis Inc tools and small equipment as needed.
  • Maintain grounds using lawn equipment, including mowing grass, trimming hedges, and caring for mulch beds and sprinklers.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in residential, commercial, or industrial construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial/industrial tools and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in inventory management and record-keeping.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Certified or able to pass Forklift certification test
  • Certified or able to pass Skid Steer/CTL certification test
  • Certified or able to hook up and back trailers, and secure items on the trailer
