Working/Functional Title

Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement

Position Summary

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • 50/50 Raffle – Assist in developing and implementing 50/50 raffle operation at football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, hockey and other events to be determined. Participate in the acquisition, storage, use and maintenance of equipment specifically designed to conduct the 50/50 raffles. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. Identify, select, train, supervise and compensate Gameday Staff Lead and volunteer groups that assist with 50/50 raffles.
  • Marketing Plans – Lead the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of marketing plans for Men’s Soccer, Women’s Basketball and Baseball, as well as support for Volleyball. Emphasis will be placed on attendance, game presentation and fan engagement.
  • Game Presentation – Lead in game presentation for assigned sports to include timelines, scripts and promotions. Gameday activation support is expected by all team members for Football and Men’s basketball gamedays as needed.
  • Ticket Sales & Attendance - Provide effective marketing support and strategies geared to maximize ticket sales, including season, mini-plans, single game, post-season and special events.
    • These efforts will be implemented to meet or exceed annual season and individual game ticket sales goals and attendance at these events.
  • Customer Service & Enhanced Fan Experience – Provide solutions to continuously improve customer service and enhanced game-day experience for fans.
  • Mission Statement & Core Values – Support the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics mission statement and exemplify the core values that have been identified for all employees.

Required Degree

Bachelors

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a bachelor's degree in a related field; three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in the planning and directing events; ability to work nights and weekends as needed for sporting events.

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting and marketing events; interpersonal skills including strong skills in written, oral, and electronic communication and effective use of social media.
