About the Role

Saber Interactive Inc. is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead the company's accounting and financial reporting functions. As a global video game developer and publisher with multiple entities and international operations, Saber operates in a complex, fast-moving environment. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will own core accounting, reporting, tax, audit, financial systems, acquisition integration, and related finance initiatives. The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly organized, collaborative, and comfortable operating independently across multiple entities and jurisdictions.


Accounting, Reporting, Systems & Controls:

Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, financial schedules, management reporting, and annual financial statements.

Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts and coordinate reporting requirements across multiple entities.

Oversee Workday financial processes and support system implementations, process improvements, automation, and scalable reporting solutions

Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, documentation, and internal controls across the organization.


Tax, Compliance & Audit:

Coordinate federal, state, and international tax compliance, including returns, extensions, amended filings, tax provisions, transfer pricing, FBAR reporting, and related requirements.

Support R&D tax credit and Section 174 projects and coordinate with external tax advisors and professional service providers.

Lead annual financial statement audits and international statutory audits, serving as a primary contact for external auditors and managing schedules, documentation, issue resolution, and required adjustments.

Monitor tax, regulatory, and statutory requirements affecting Saber and its subsidiaries.

Acquisitions, Transactions & International Operations

Provide accounting and finance support for acquisitions, investments, divestitures, and other corporate transactions, including financial due diligence and quality of earnings projects.

Coordinate purchase price allocation and valuation projects and support preparation and review of transaction-related financial information.

Lead accounting integration and onboarding of newly acquired businesses, ensuring alignment with Saber reporting, controls, compliance, and financial processes.

Oversee accounting and reporting requirements across domestic and international entities, including local statutory requirements and consolidated corporate reporting.

Work effectively with finance teams, advisors, and service providers across multiple jurisdictions and time zones.


Team Leadership:

Lead, develop, and manage accounting and finance personnel, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and clear accountability.

Coordinate finance activities across departments and entities and support recruiting and onboarding as needed.

Build scalable processes and controls that support the continued growth of the organization.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with significant progressive accounting experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Senior Accounting Manager, or comparable role.

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, close processes, internal controls, and multi-entity/consolidated accounting.

Experience with mergers and acquisitions, financial due diligence, and/or post-acquisition integration.

Experience with transfer pricing and international tax matters, and managing accounting across international subsidiaries.

Experience working with external auditors, tax advisors, valuation firms, and transaction advisors.

Experience implementing or redesigning accounting systems, accounting processes, charts of accounts, and internal controls.

Strong ERP, Excel, financial analysis, project management, communication, judgment, and organizational skills.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.

Workday Financial Management experience.

Purchase price allocation and valuation experience.

Experience with R&D tax credits and Section 174.

Experience within video games, entertainment, technology, software, digital media, or another IP-driven business.
