Assistant Controller

Role Overview

Stardom Employment Consultants is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the organization’s accounting operations and financial reporting processes. This role will partner with the Controller and leadership team to ensure accurate financial information, strong internal controls, and timely month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
  • Monitor general ledger activity and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and variance reporting.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and other accounting functions as assigned.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
  • Assist with audits, tax filings, compliance requirements, and special financial projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a supervisory or senior-level role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting principles.
  • Experience with month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
