About M. Peppers:
M. Peppers is an exciting neighborhood French bistro located in the Highlands. Focusing on traditional French cookery with local ingredients and a concentration on French and American wine and classic cocktails that pair harmoniously together.

Overview:
We are seeking an Prep Cook to support our kitchen team by preparing ingredients, sauces, and garnishes to ensure smooth service and to get a start on the day. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to cleanliness and food safety.  Your ability to maintain quality, consistency and cleanliness while working efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen is crucial to delivering an outstanding dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Ingredient Preparation: Prep and portion ingredients, and prepare sauces for service.

  • Food Quality & Consistency: Follow recipes and chef instructions to maintain high standards.

  • Station Management: Keep workstations stocked, organized, and ready for service.

  • Cleanliness & Sanitation: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, following all health and food safety guidelines.

  • Inventory & Deliveries: Assist with tracking inventory, ordering, receiving deliveries, and proper food storage.

  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with BOH and FOH teams to ensure smooth operations.

  • Equipment & Waste Management: Safely use kitchen equipment and help minimize food waste.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience as a Prep Cook or Line Cook in a fine dining or high-volume kitchen.

  • Strong knowledge of food prep techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods. 

  • Working in hot, humid, and noisy environments with hard surfaces.

  • This position is 8am-4pm 5 days a week and must be available Saturdays and Sundays.
