Work Environment

This position is an onsite role located within our hospital facility in Cicero, Illinois. Our hospital setting is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and resources to support an effective therapeutic environment. You will work regular Monday to Friday business hours, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic, while contributing to a structured and professional atmosphere alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and execute designated physical therapy interventions as prescribed by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring quality of care and adherence to treatment protocols.
• Instruct and guide patients in therapeutic exercises and functional training, providing encouragement and motivation while ensuring proper technique to prevent injury.
• Continuously assess patient progress, document interventions accurately, and communicate updates to the Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Engage effectively with patients, demonstrating compassion, empathy, and respect toward their unique needs and backgrounds.
• Utilize current best practices and research findings in rehabilitation to enhance treatment methods, lead discussions on patient care, and contribute new ideas for improved outcomes.
• Participate in team meetings and case reviews to provide insights on patient status and collaboratively devise strategies for optimal recovery pathways.
• Maintain compliance with ethical and legal standards in all aspects of patient interaction and care documentation.
• Commit to continual professional development and learning, staying up-to-date with advancements in physical therapy practices and techniques.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist Assistant at Thrive & Flourish will primarily work with diverse patient populations experiencing varying degrees of mobility challenges—from post-operative recovery to chronic pain management. This role necessitates a deep understanding of individualized care approaches, as treatment plans must accommodate each patient’s specific needs, goals, and constraints. You will be instrumental in guiding patients through their rehabilitation journey, directly impacting their recovery and quality of life.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant or a related field.
• Current state license or relevant certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively connect with patients and team members.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting as a Physical Therapist Assistant is highly advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with therapeutic exercises and modalities, along with a proven record of successfully contributing to patient rehabilitation.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation and patient progress tracking.

Compensation and Benefits
