Job Description

The Assistant Editor plays a critical role in ensuring a seamless post-production process. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ingesting, organizing, and logging media assets, completing initial and final edits as needed, and uploading deliverables to the customer distribution platform. The Assistant Editor is also responsible for ensuring all outputs meet Amazing Life Foundation's standards of quality and branding, assembling rough and final cuts, proofreading captions and text-based graphics, and collaborating closely with lead editors and producers.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ingest, organize, and log media assets to support e๏ฌƒcient workflow.
  • Upload all deliverables to the customer distribution platform.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet Amazing Life Foundationโ€™s quality and branding standards.
  • Assist lead editors in the assembly and refinement of video projects.
  • Perform initial rough cuts and prepare sequences for further editing.
  • Proofread captions and textbased graphics to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Apply critical thinking to evaluate edits and suggest improvements for pacing, clarity, and storytelling.
  • Collaborate with producers and other team members to incorporate feedback and adjust edits as needed.
  • Maintain organized project files and ensure secure backups using designated digital asset management systems.
  • Perform initial rough cuts and prepare sequences for further editing
  • Complete full edits when called upon with supervision of lead editors

    Beyond these primary tasks, the Assistant Editor will support lead editors by preparing initial rough cuts,proofreading on-screen text elements, and applying critical thinking to evaluate and refine video content. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work e๏ฌ€ectively under tight deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
