Summary:
The IT Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Information Technology support and infrastructure teams while providing hands-on technical leadership. This role coordinates day-to-day IT activities, ensuring timely resolution of incidents, execution of operational and project work, adherence to service levels, and alignment with organizational priorities.
The IT Supervisor serves as a working leader who balances employee supervision with direct participation in technical operations, infrastructure support, troubleshooting, cybersecurity, and continuous improvement initiatives across a multi-site manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily activities of IT support, infrastructure, and systems administration personnel.
- Serve as a working supervisor by actively participating in technical support, infrastructure administration, troubleshooting, and project activities while overseeing team performance and operational execution.
- Assign and prioritize workloads to ensure operational, project, and service delivery objectives are achieved.
- Maintain a regular onsite presence at company facilities to support operations, engage with site leadership, reinforce IT standards, and identify technology improvement opportunities.
- Maintain visibility within manufacturing and operational areas to ensure technology solutions effectively support production and business objectives.
- Coordinate IT operations across multiple locations and support alignment with enterprise IT priorities, standards, and processes.
- Monitor service desk performance, ticket queues, escalations, and service levels to ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues and operational challenges.
- Participate in the administration, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, enterprise networking technologies, and end-user computing environments.
- Support infrastructure upgrades, patching, maintenance, technology refreshes, backup operations, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
- Coordinate assigned IT projects and operational initiatives, including tracking milestones, deliverables, risks, and resource requirements.
- Escalate significant operational, staffing, project, security, or business issues to IT management as appropriate.
- Support ERP, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and operational improvement projects.
- Serve as the site's designated Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) and coordinate local cybersecurity and compliance activities in partnership with Corporate Security and Information Security teams.
- Support implementation and maintenance of NIST, CMMC, and company security requirements while ensuring adherence to established security policies and procedures.
- Participate in audits, assessments, remediation activities, and maintenance of security documentation, audit artifacts, system inventories, and user access reviews.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers and assist with hardware and software inventory management, licensing, procurement, and technology lifecycle planning.
- Develop and maintain operational metrics, reporting, and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and automation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience:
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure and operations.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory, team lead, or project leadership experience.
- Experience supporting Microsoft technologies, networking, virtualization, and enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Experience supporting multi-site business environments.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or production environments.
- Experience supporting ERP systems within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience supporting NIST, CMMC, DFARS, ITAR, or other compliance frameworks preferred.
- ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, Security+, or similar industry certifications preferred.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements:
- Active U.S. Government security clearance preferred.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a DoD 8570 Information Assurance Level II certification within six (6) months of hire.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Prior experience supporting government contractors, defense contractors, or regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
