Description

Overview: We are seeking a community-focused Reporter to join our editorial team and cover local news, feature stories, and special assignments across the region. This role is ideal for a curious, adaptable journalist who enjoys building relationships within the community, creating compelling multimedia content, and contributing to both print and digital platforms. The Reporter will work closely with editors to deliver accurate, engaging journalism that informs and connects readers across our growing network of local news properties.

Requirements


  • Research, report, and write accurate news, feature, enterprise, and special assignment stories
  • Capture and produce photos and videos to accompany stories and digital content
  • Contribute content to websites and social media platforms while helping generate ideas to increase audience engagement
  • Edit, proofread, and rewrite submitted content for grammar, style, accuracy, and clarity
  • Assist with newspaper and special publication production, including layout, pagination, headlines, and photo selection
  • Build and maintain professional relationships within local communities, including assigned regional and tribal communities

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing, interviewing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment
  • Comfortable using digital publishing tools, social media platforms, and basic office technology
  • Ability to work collaboratively while also handling independent reporting assignments
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally as needed
