Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry Writer to join our Imports team. The Entry Writer will be responsible for preparing and processing customs documentation for air and ocean import shipments, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, and supporting our clients with efficient and accurate entry processing. This role is ideal for someone looking to build their career in customs brokerage and international logistics.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, review, and file customs entries for air and ocean import shipments.
• Ensure all entries comply with CBP regulations and other government agency requirements.
• Work directly with customers to obtain necessary import documentation.
• Communicate with carriers, truckers, and overseas agents to coordinate shipment details.
• Maintain accurate records in our CRM and filing systems.
• Provide timely updates to clients on entry status and resolve documentation issues quickly.
• Assist with auditing entries and ensuring proper duty/tax payments.
• Support the Imports team with special projects and customer requests as needed.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• 1+ year of experience in customs entry writing, import operations, or logistics (preferred, but willing to train the right candidate).
• Knowledge of U.S. import regulations and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficient in Cargowise or logistics software.
• 1+ In the Freight Forwarding industry
