Job description

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to support a healthcare organization’s core database and application environment in Fremont, California. This Contract position focuses on maintaining system stability, managing backups and restores, and assisting with environment configuration activities across a complex enterprise platform. The role will also contribute to upgrades and software update installations, with limited involvement in related Microsoft technologies when applicable.
Responsibilities:
• Support the daily operation and reliability of the organization’s primary database and associated application environment.
• Administer backup processes and perform recovery activities to protect system availability and data integrity.
• Build and maintain system environments, including new instance creation, refresh efforts, and platform configuration tasks.
• Execute application upgrades and software update installations in coordination with technical and operational needs.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and database-related issues to minimize downtime and improve performance.
• Provide hands-on support for restore requests and other recovery procedures as required.
• Assist with Microsoft-based technologies on an occasional basis, representing a smaller portion of the overall assignment.
• Contribute to certificate-related support activities when needed, though this is not a primary requirement for the position.• Epic Certification is required.
• Experience in database administration is required.
• Background supporting enterprise systems in a systems engineering or similar technical role.
• Knowledge of backup, restore, and recovery procedures within production environments.
• Experience with environment creation, system refreshes, upgrades, and software update installations.
• Ability to diagnose technical issues and resolve system or database problems efficiently.
