Job Summary:
Ampcus Inc. is a certified global provider of a broad range of Technology and Business consulting services. They are seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer III to design, build and maintain lab infrastructure for the Software Health Automation team. The role involves collaborating with development teams, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring high availability of lab environments.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around developer and engineering productivity and velocity especially as it relates to rapid test iteration.
• Develop software tooling for operations to keep things running and highly available
• Troubleshoot software and hardware problems on hardware equipment.
• Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability.
• Design, set up and maintain test fixtures to verify software on real hardware.
• Design, develop, implement, test, document and deliver large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, systems and services using multi-threaded programming, distributed programming in Java and C++, JDBC, SQL, Object Oriented design and design patterns, Oracle, and middleware messaging systems in a Linux environment.
• Assist in gathering and analyzing business and functional requirements, and translating requirements into technical specifications for robust, scalable, supportable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture.
• Own delivery of entire pieces of system or application and serve as technical lead on complex projects using best practice engineering standards.
• Produce comprehensive, usable software documentation.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation and travel for onsite troubleshooting or project launch.
Qualifications:
Required:
• MS in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus one year of experience in the job offered or related occupation must involve multi-threaded programming and distributed programming in Java or C++ on Linux.
• Design and implement infrastructure using AWS CDK. In-depth knowledge and experience of AWS CDK implementation.
• Experience must also involve JDBC, SQL, and Object-Oriented design and design patterns.
• Requires availability for travel and 24x7 on-call support rotation.
• Employer will accept bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience in the specialty as equivalent to the master’s degree.
Preferred:
• Development/programming/scripting language (Python/Java/Bash/Perl)
