Must Haves:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, RF Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Systems Engineering and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience with creating and managing system requirements in DOORS.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance from the U.S. government which requires U.S. Citizenship.

Nice to Haves:
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral) and formal presentation skills are required
  • Candidate should be skilled in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio
  • Experience in product development a plus (preferably in military application environment).
  • Experience and understanding regarding all 9 SySML diagram types.
  • Relevant certifications such as INCOSE® (ASEP, CSEP, ESEP) or MBSE.
  • Experience with safety analysis, risk analysis, and system performance analysis.

Job Description:
The System Engineer is responsible for the life-cycle support of our subsystems (Safe and Arm Devices and Height of Burst designs used in DoD weapon systems) from proposal development through product phase-out, including but not limited to customer briefings, proposal writing, technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, risk and supportability, performing anaylses, and customer requirements management. The System Engineer will also ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Assist with creation and maintenance of detailed design and drawings and assist with hardware builds and testing.
Essential Functions:
  • The primary responsibilities of the role include the following:
  • Translate end-user/customer needs into end-to-end systems requirements
  • Work collaboratively across the engineering organization to perform requirements analysis, requirements decomposition and assignment of requirements to appropriate functional areas of responsibility, and manages traceability of requirements back to customer specifications and system level derived requirements
  • Leads design synthesis and generation of supporting design documentation which includes technical specifications, interface control documents, test plans and procedures, and test conformance to specifications through verification cross reference matrix (VCRM)
  • Performing functional analysis, software subsystem decomposition, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Creating and managing system requirements in DOORS (or other equivalent tool) together with MBSE models.
  • Conduct tests and document results
  • Develop and deliver presentations to communicate design activity plans and status to internal and external customers.
