About the Opportunity

Ellucian's IT Operations is seeking a talented Senior Systems Analyst (Senior Analyst). The Senior Systems Analyst is the lead of Application Team at Tougaloo College Office of Information Technology (OIT).  The Senior Systems Analyst main role is to partner with end users, understand and optimize their business processes, and to assist them in becoming more efficient and effective utilizing technology. This is a high impact role where your contributions will help ensure highly available and secure messaging and identity platforms. We are looking for a motivated contributor with strong skills in Office 365 and Messaging Infrastructure, Active Directory infrastructure, Entra ID, SQL reporting, data analysis and ERP troubleshooting. The overall goal of OIT is to support Tougaloo College's drive for student success. This position reports to the Chief Information Officer at Tougaloo College.

Where you will make an impact 

  • Gather requirements, create functional specifications based on requirements, create test plans, test/validate project deliverables, validation of system upgrades, troubleshoot operational tasks.
  • Bridge the gap of knowledge between OIT and the various business units, maintain continuity on critical processes and projects with remote consultants when required.
  • Acquiring institutional business process knowledge, provide business process improvement recommendations, and promote best practices.
  • Work on complex projects or complex operational tasks.
  • Work with remote consultants on designated projects to ensure there is no gap of understanding between the consultant and the Rider business client. Serve as a backup for consultant for short term/emergency.
  • Troubleshoot errors and issues encountered by end users and provide resolution to solve issues to client's satisfaction
  • Train end users or technical support staff to use and support programs.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction until the project is complete
  • Create or maintain documentation of user guides, handbooks, and/or functional specifications.
  • Secure and manage on premises Exchange and Office 365 solutions.
  • Secure and manage on premises Active Directory and cloud identity solutions.
  • Provide continuous improvement to processes and procedures within the Office 365 environment.
  • Work with architects, integration engineers, and developers to integrate systems with identity solutions.
  • Enhance monitoring and auditing capabilities on messaging and identity platforms.
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends to deal with outages and maintenance windows.
  • Be part of a team. Share knowledge. Mentor. Be open, honest, and have a positive attitude.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation with teammates to provide reliable 24 x 7 x 365 support to production systems.

What you will bring

  • 4+ years of experience in an IT corporate environment, with at least 3 years as an enterprise-level Messaging Engineer working with Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 Exchange Online, and at least 4 years of experience with Active Directory and Entra ID.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully gaining and keeping client trust, including managing communications and expectations with clients.
  • Experience in working on one or more enterprise projects that touched a variety of end-users or clients.
  • Demonstrated experience handling multiple projects simultaneously and managing competing priorities.
  • Experience analysing and documenting data flows at a high level.
  • Good understanding of Role Based Access Controls and Privileged Access Management.
  • Good understanding IP networking and services.
  • Internally motivated with the desire and ability to own problems and solve them.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex system issues.
  • Multi-year experience maintaining secure production environments.
  • Ability to plan, hold yourself and others accountable, and follow up with others.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills- must be able to clearly communicate
