Job description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Superintendent to join our team for a large-scale fiber to the home deployment project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day field operations, develops project plans, and monitors performance. Recognized as an expert, they anticipate client needs and provide solutions, sharing expertise and mentoring colleagues.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Will ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes

  • Leads the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversees incident investigations

  • Reviews and updates construction schedules, addresses delays, and contributes to project schedules

  • Estimates activity durations and materials for complex projects

  • Working knowledge of reporting and tracking of financial aspects of the project

  • Participates in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement and negotiations

  • Will set priorities and allocate resources as needed for the entire field team

  • Provides leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents

Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of experience in as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent

  • Experience in aerial fiber construction is required

  • Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset

  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices

  • Effective Communication and leadership skills

  • Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors

  • Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues

  • Strong organizational and planning skills

  • Military experience equivalent to 12N Horizontal Construction Engineer and/or 12H Construction Engineering Supervisor

Working Conditions:

  • This is a site-based position

  • Travel up to 40% of the time throughout the state of West Virginia
