Function / Position SummaryThe purpose of this position is to provide exposure and work-based learning opportunities to a student interested in various career fields. These positions will reside inside of School District U-46. All students selected for internships, based upon this list of opportunities, will be required to follow the guidelines set by their specific supervisor.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Assist with departmental tasks.
- Attend meetings with the coordinator to gain an understanding of responsibilities and goals.
- Complete projects with direction from the department coordinator.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education- Rising Junior or Senior within School District U-46.
Experience / Knowledge- Knowledge of necessary skills for the position in which you have applied.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
Physical Demands- Ability to work on a computer over a major portion of the work day.
- Must be able to lift boxes up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to climb several flights of stairs.
Terms of Employment- This is a temporary position with a maximum of 60 hours for a three-month period with a $900 stipend; position then terminates.
- Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education.
- Students should expect to travel to different buildings and locations within the district, community, and county to complete necessary projects as necessary.
