The Aircraft Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that assigned aircraft are maintained within required specifications of 14 CFR Parts 43, 91 and 125 and other FAA, DOD, OEM and CBP regulations, and are airworthy before operation.

• Inspect the work of Aircraft Mechanics performing maintenance repairs and modifications on structures, engines, electrical, avionics, and sub-systems.
• Apply technical knowledge to determine proper equipment installation and operation and assist the maintenance department in solving complex problems by interpreting blueprints, manufacturers’ manuals, and technical documentation.
• Make entries in aircraft logs and records; provide guidance and technical expertise to lower‑level technicians during all aircraft modifications and maintenance efforts.
• Perform receiving, in‑process, final quality, flight safety inspections and functional operational tests at organizational, intermediate and depot maintenance levels.
• Approve or reject work completed by field team members to ensure compliance with customer specifications, standards and technical data.
• Review and approve locally developed procedures and solutions to complex repair situations.
• Analyze defects, interpret quality‑control rejection and failure trends, and monitor safety, training and certification requirements.
• Use checklists to perform daily safety inspections and foreign‑object‑damage (FOD) inspections at the work site.
• Monitor tool control programs, inspect and maintain records to confirm that measuring and test equipment meets calibration requirements; maintain Quality, Safety, Training and Certification records.
• Coordinate with the Customer Quality Assurance Representative regarding quality matters, mandatory inspection points and final acceptance inspections of contract end items or services.
• Inspect forms and records related to aircraft maintenance and monitor the department’s program including engine oil consumption, logs, hydraulic contamination, NDI, electrical static discharge, certification programs, confined‑space entry, tool control, foreign‑object damage, material control, weight‑and‑balance, fall protection, and safety programs.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of ground and flight‑operation SOPs, quality plans and safety plans; assist maintenance in briefing and debriefing functional check flights.
• Use government computer systems to access technical references for airframe repairs and training requirements.
• Document maintenance as per QA and regulatory requirements, comply with work‑order time‑keeping system procedures, maintain cleanliness, and utilize a clean‑as‑you‑go process during maintenance duties.
• Conduct weekly FOD walk‑downs and maintain situational awareness, staying cognitively focused and mitigating risks.
• Report missing, lost, found or unattended tools immediately; inventory and inspect tools regularly, report required replacements to supervisor, and maintain tools in accordance with policy.
• Handle hazardous materials, expired materials and waste in accordance with applicable laws and regulations; follow safety rules and procedures, and report accidents, injuries, violations or unsafe practices promptly.
• Perform weekly cleaning duties for break rooms and smoking areas.

• U.S. citizenship and capacity to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• Valid Airframe and Power Plant (A‑P) license.
• Valid FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
• Ability to obtain a government flight‑line driver’s license.
• Valid United States driver’s license.
• Experience providing technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers.
• Excellent organizational skills, capable of prioritizing workload to meet delivery schedule.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

• Lifting, reaching, bending, walking, pulling, sitting, standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, stretching for prolonged periods.
• Working in cramped, awkward, or strained positions; climbing ladders, work platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structures.
• Carrying items up to 40 pounds or using assistance for heavier objects.
• Wearing cumbersome personal protective equipment for HAZMAT operations.
• Night shift or overtime may be required; work may be located in aircraft maintenance hangars or outdoors.
• Some domestic travel may be required.
