The University of Texas at Dallas has an excellent job opportunity for individuals looking to join the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science team as a Financial Services Assistant.
The Financial Services Assistant will work closely with department leaders and staff to provide financial administration for the department finances, financial processes, and records to meet the department's day-to-day financial operations goals. Assist in ensuring that compliance with all regulations, policies and university requirements are met to secure the department's long-term financial viability and stability.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business area with a minimum of two years related financial experience working in a university or non-profit environment OR the equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Process procurement/reimbursement requests for UTDesign senior capstone projects, EPICS projects and a select group of UTD student clubs.
  • Supervise student assistant.
  • Monthly reconciliation of UTD-issued credit card charges for UTDesign, EPICS, and other related programs.
  • Maintain documentation for expenses, reimbursements, and returns. Provide accurate expense reports for capstone, EPICS, and related student clubs.
  • Maintain reservation schedules and login accesses for UTDesign Studio room resources.
  • Assist with maintenance of studio.
  • Assist as needed for engineering and computer science expos, and other department-related events.
  • Update the studio video displays of projects each semester.
  • Update table signs w/sponsor logos for each table assignment in the UTDesign Studio.
  • Assist with supply orders for daily operations in UTDesign Studio.
  • Be available to students at the UTDesign Studio for general questions, concerns and/or assistance.
  • Provide procurement instruction to UTDesign course directors and students.
  • Pick up studio and event supplies from local businesses, i.e. Sam's Club.
  • Be able to lift heavy objects (cases of water, paper).
  • Any other tasks as needed or assigned by the UTDesign team.

REMOTE WORK FOR FUTURE AVAILABILITY
After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. May be required to use personal computer and other standard office equipment. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
