Job description

Stand Together is a philanthropic community that helps America's boldest changemakers tackle the root causes of our country's biggest problems, from education to the economy, broken communities, and toxic division, among dozens of other pressing issues. We provide our partners with access to resources including funding, thought leadership, a network of peers, and a playbook for applying proven principles to transform lives and society.

We are seeking a skilled Sr. Administrative Assistant to support the Investments team, which identifies and advances high-potential opportunities that help people realize their potential and contribute to Stand Together's vision. Through strategic partnerships and thoughtful stewardship of resources, the team takes a long-term, evidence-informed approach to investing in people, organizations, and ideas that create lasting value and drive meaningful change. In this role, you will serve as a trusted partner to four principals, creating the conditions that enable them and the broader team to operate effectively, focus on the highest-value opportunities, and advance strategic priorities.

Success in this role comes from anticipating needs, exercising sound judgment, and creating clarity amid competing priorities. You will leverage your organizational strengths, attention to detail, and proactive approach to coordinate complex schedules, manage administrative responsibilities, and facilitate seamless collaboration. By providing reliable, high-quality support, you will help the team maximize its contribution toward our shared vision.

The role will be based in person at our Ballston, VA office.

How You Will Contribute
  • Calendar management. Build and maintain a deep understanding of priorities to effectively allocate the leader's time. Prioritize a high volume of inquiries and requests while troubleshooting conflicts for your team. • Meeting preparation and follow up. Assemble meeting agendas, coordinate and track action items.
  • Deep organizational knowledge. Possess in-depth knowledge of the organization's operations, priorities, and key stakeholders to effectively provide strategic executive support.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and team support. Partner with Administrative Professionals and internal teams to ensure seamless support during absences. Provide interim coverage as needed, quickly adapting to priorities and workflows while supporting organizational events in partnership with the Investments capability to coordinate logistics and ensure successful execution.
  • General administrative support. Book and coordinate travel, itineraries, and logistics, as well as process invoice payments, reconcile receipts, and expense reports on behalf of the leaders.
  • Identify areas to increase efficiency and innovate to improve administrative processes. Collaborate with internal and external Administrative Professionals to understand prioritization and make trade-offs. Identify and learn new tools and techniques to elevate the level of support and partnership the administrative team can provide.
What You Will Bring

  • Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, sense of judgment, and ability to improvise and creatively problem-solve while maintaining composure.
  • Ability to provide articulate and concise oral and written communications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook (including expertise with Outlook's calendar function), and PowerPoint.
  • Enthusiasm to contribute to Stand Together's vision and principled approach to solving problems, and a commitment to stewarding our culture, which champions values including transformation and innovation, entrepreneurialism, humility, and respect

  • Proficiency with expense reporting software, such as Concur.
  • Experience supporting remote leaders across time zones.
What We Offer
  • Competitive benefits: Enjoy a 6% 401(k) match with immediate vesting, flexible time off, comprehensive health and dental plans, plus wellness and mental health support through Peloton and Talkspace.
  • A meaningful career: Join a passionate community of over 1,300 employees dedicated to improving lives and driving innovative solutions to complex social challenges.

Our Principles-Based Management (PBM) compensation philosophy is grounded in an individualized approach that rewards the long-term value each person creates for the organization. Compensation decisions are informed by a variety of factors, including relevant experience, capabilities, demonstrated skills, role responsibilities, and expected contribution. Consistent with this approach, base salary may vary within or outside of the anticipated range based on these considerations.
