This senior technical role requires you to discover problems, determine their criticality, and drive your own projects to successful conclusion while mentoring junior engineers. You'll design and build scalable geospatial solutions leveraging the ArcGIS stack, set up end-to-end DevSecOps processes, and take leadership roles in large projects. Working closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders in fast iteration cycles, you'll leverage AI coding assistants and enterprise software agents to rapidly develop production-quality code while maintaining the highest quality standards.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Lead solution design and independently create solutions for ill-defined or complex problems that cross domains, considering interactions with other systems and future maintenance

  • Design and build scalable geospatial solutions leveraging the ArcGIS stack to surface enterprise data, optimizing spatial data workflows and query performance

  • Set up end-to-end solution structure, DevSecOps tooling and processes using Octopus Deploy and cloud technologies while taking leadership roles in large projects

  • Leverage AI coding assistants and enterprise software agents to rapidly develop, test, and iterate on production-quality code with strong ability to review, validate, and debug AI-generated outputs

  • Own quality assurance through comprehensive testing approaches including unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing, developing robust tests to cover all relevant cases

  • Triage complicated failures and drive to resolution independently, helping others with their troubleshooting and root cause analysis

  • Mentor junior engineers on proper standards and techniques to improve their accuracy and efficiency while providing ongoing support to applications used within the organization

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience

  • Hands-on experience with modern LLM APIs across multiple providers, including prompt engineering, tool use/function calling, structured outputs, and context engineering

  • Strong ability to review, validate, and debug AI-generated code with strong engineering judgment to know when to trust AI output and when to intervene

  • ArcGIS JS development and integration experience

  • Solid understanding of backend systems, microservice architectures, and distributed systems in Python, Node.js, Java, Go, or C#

  • Experience designing and maintaining RESTful or gRPC APIs

  • Solid experience with a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB)

  • Working knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and containerization (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building or deploying LLM-enabled systems, AI agents, or agent orchestration frameworks

  • Experience designing evaluation and testing frameworks for AI/agent-generated outputs

  • Familiarity with enterprise AI/agent platforms and tool ecosystems

  • Front-end experience with React, Angular, or Vue.js for internal tools and dashboards

  • Experience in Commercial Real Estate, Research, Financial Services, or other data-intensive domains

  • Experience modernizing legacy systems or migrating platforms to cloud-native architectures
