Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Environmental Scientistto join our team! Our team uses the latest technologies and methodologies to perform environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation, delivering a cleaner, safer planet for our customers and future generations. In this role you will get toperform a variety of geological and environmental tasks.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Perform various field and office tasks requiring the application of standard environmental science principles and theories
  • Conduct soil, surface water, groundwater, sediment, and other environmental sampling
  • Soil classification and sampling during drilling, test pitting, and excavation activities
  • Supervise drillers and other subcontractors
  • Execute field projects with health and safety as the top priority
  • Complete field documentation such as activity hazard analysis (AHA) forms, project field reports, field notes, sampling records, and chain-of-custody forms
  • Assist in geologic and environmental analyses and interpretation, which may include hydrogeology and/or geochemistry
  • Analyze and interpret environmental sample analysis results within the context of the geological setting
  • Prepare figures of environmental data, potentiometric surface maps, geologic maps, and cross sections
  • Develop materials and assist in completing reports on finished field work
  • May provide technical guidance to lower-level geologists or environmental scientists
  • Work with project managers, using interpersonal and organizational skills, to ensure projects are completed on time and budget
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or related field and typically 3+ years of related work experience

  • A familiarity with related environmental rules and regulations is preferred
  • This work requires some physical exertion such as extended periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; lifting; recurring bending or similar activities

  • Demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills
