Position Summary
The Slot Shift Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing daily Slot department operations. This position provides leadership to the Slot Operations Team, establishes performance expectations and goals, monitors department metrics, and identifies opportunities to improve productivity, profitability, and the guest experience.
The Slot Shift Manager also supports a service-focused culture designed to strengthen guest loyalty and brand relationships while ensuring compliance with internal controls, standard operating procedures, gaming regulations, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily Slot department operations and establish clear expectations and goals for team members.
  • Support the development and implementation of effective strategies for managing customer service within Slot Operations.
  • Monitor business levels and create schedules that support established service standards and business needs.
  • Monitor department metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Process jackpots and manual hand-pays in accordance with property Internal Controls and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Serve as a signatory on hand-paid jackpots as detailed in Internal Controls and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Document and report cash operation transactions in accordance with federal currency reporting and compliance standards.
  • Explain various game combinations and payouts with confidence and accuracy.
  • Listen and respond to guests in a considerate, professional, and positive manner.
  • Take ownership of guest and team member inquiries and follow through to resolution.
  • Maintain meticulous security of keys, radios, handheld devices, assigned items, and company equipment.
  • Identify and report unsafe practices that do not comply with company safety standards.
  • Maintain a professional workplace environment for all team members.
  • Meet attendance guidelines and comply with regulatory, departmental, and company policies and procedures.
  • Attend all required training sessions and meetings.
  • Manage and complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Read and understand the WarHorse Responsible Gambling Plan.
  • Adhere to regulations prohibiting service to minors and/or intoxicated persons.
  • Maintain flexibility in scheduling based on business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience
Required:
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) credential, or relevant experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a leadership capacity within a guest service or customer service-driven industry, preferably in a high-volume, complex resort casino environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to guest loyalty and exceptional service.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Technical understanding of slot machines and associated components.
  • Demonstrated commitment to training and mentoring team members.
  • Knowledge of player tracking systems and guidelines consistent with industry standards.
  • Ability to maintain compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable gaming requirements.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in a casino and hospitality environment with regular interaction with guests, team members, and gaming equipment.
  • Requires the ability to use radios, handheld devices, mobile devices, touchscreen technology, and other assigned company equipment.
  • Requires frequent communication with guests, team members, and leadership.
  • Requires the ability to maintain attention to detail while performing cash-handling, gaming, documentation, and operational duties.
  • May involve prolonged periods of standing and movement throughout the gaming property.
  • May involve exposure to standard casino environmental conditions, including noise and secondhand smoke.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality and entertainment industry, team members must be able to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and other shifts, to reflect the business needs of the property.
