Job description

Position Summary
The Slot Shift Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Slot Department during assigned shifts. This position provides leadership, supervision, and support to Slot Supervisors, Slot Coordinators, Slot Attendants, and Slot Technicians while ensuring exceptional guest service, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and revenue optimization. The Slot Shift Manager is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and enjoyable gaming environment while ensuring compliance with Tribal Internal Controls (TICS), Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), Tribal Gaming Commission regulations, and all company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership
  • Leads slot department during assigned shifts to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Assigns work duties and monitors slot department performance throughout the shift.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring, and guidance to slot team members.
  • Assists with training of new slot team members.
  • Promotes teamwork and positive employee morale in the slot department.
  • Serves as acting supervisor in the absence of management when assigned.
  • Addresses slot employee concerns and report significant issues to the General Manager.
  • Assists in maintaining adequate staffing in the slot department throughout the shift.

Operations
  • Ensures slot department opens, operates, and closes according to established procedures.
  • Monitors workflow to maximize efficiency and productivity in the slot department.
  • Assists in scheduling work assignments and break coverage in the slot department.
  • Maintains accurate records, logs, and required documentation in the slot department.
  • Ensures equipment is functioning properly and reports maintenance needs in the slot department.
  • Assists management with inventory control and supply ordering in the slot department as applicable.
  • Identifies operational improvements and recommend solutions in the slot department.

Guest Service
  • Provides exceptional guest service in accordance with casino service standards.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Ensure guests receive prompt, courteous, and accurate service.

Compliance
  • Ensures compliance with all Tribal Gaming Commission, state, federal, and casino regulations.
  • Enforces departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive company and guest information.
  • Ensures compliance with internal controls.
  • Reports suspicious activity or policy violations immediately.
  • Promotes responsible gaming practices.

Safety and Security
  • Maintains a safe working environment.
  • Ensures employees follow OSHA and casino safety procedures.
  • Responds appropriately to emergencies.
  • Reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
  • Report any vandalism, breakage to Security when necessary.

Administrative Responsibilities
  • Assists with employee performance documentation.
  • Completes require reports accurately and timely.
  • Communicates slot operational issues to incoming shifts.
  • Assists management with departmental goals and initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities
The Slot Shift Manager provides day-to-day leadership and direction to employees during assigned shifts but may not have full authority to hire, terminate, discipline, or evaluate employees unless specifically delegated by management.

Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of slot supervision experience.
